Safeguarding children training

Free staff development opportunity for staff who work with minors.

Aimhigher Greater Merseyside have generously offered a small number of free places on this course to LJMU staff who come into contact with young people under 18 in the course of their work. It's open to people who wish to refresh and update their knowledge as well as to those who have not had safeguarding training before.

The session covers:

  • The legislation and regulations on child abuse and safeguarding
  • The definitions of child abuse
  • Recognising signs and symptoms of abuse
  • Safeguarding
  • Working together
  • Assessment
  • Your role
  • Keeping yourself safe

The session is delivered by Sue Wilkinson, from Safeguarding Consultancy.

The course takes place on 24 February, 9am-1pm. The venue has not yet been announced, but is likely to be in the Mount Pleasant area.
