We are the champions
11 February 2009
Congratulations to the LJMU’s Men’s Gaelic Football teams on their outstanding achievement at the National Gaelic Football championships held in February.
The 1st team made history when they captured their 4th consecutive title to equal the record held by St Marys Strawberry Hill. With the 2nd team winning Division 2, LJMU are now the first university in the history of British University Gaelic Games to capture both divisions in the same year.
The 1st team has now qualified to the All Ireland semi final of the Ulster Bank Trench Cup, which will be held at the Cork Institute of Technology, Cork, Ireland on Friday 27 and Saturday 28 February 2009.
If you are interested in getting involved in a sports team or a student group whilst at University contact Danni Jeffrey, VP Activities & Participation at Liverpool Students’ Union, LSUVPAP@ljmu.ac.uk, for details of what is available and how to get involved.
