Student progress reports
19 February 2009
Information for staff: From next week students will be able to access their progress reports via the Student Portal.
The Student Portal within Blackboard has been designed to bring together information for students that will assist them in their day-to-day interactions with LJMU. Currently the portal provides real-time information on:
- The account balance in their Virtual Purse
- Their status within the library system, including library charges, number of books on loan, when the next book is due back and status of hold requests.
- Password and Account Expiry Date
- Access to the Address and Contact information held on OSS, and the ability to update this
Next week new functionality will be introduced which will give students access to their progress report. This will allow them to see any marks that have been entered for them within OSS – this will include pre-moderated marks, with a note cautioning that these are subject to change. It is envisaged that this instant access to live data will replace the current reliance upon the production of paper transcript reports. For the remainder of the current academic year, however, the formal notification of results to students will continue to be based upon the issue of transcript reports.
