Volunteer for Action for Children
03 March 2009
Volunteers needed for two projects.
Action for Children helps the most vulnerable children and young people in the UK break through injustice, deprivation and inequality, so they can achieve their full potential. Action for Children couldn't achieve their vision of every child realising their unique potential without the support of volunteers.
They are currently recruiting volunteers for two projects:
Action for Children Liverpool Family Centre
The role:
Volunteers will provide support to children, families and project staff. This can involve assisting with home visits, assisting staff members with individual work with children, keeping appropriate records and establishing and maintaining excellent relationships with children and their parents / carers.
Film Screening Volunteer
The role:
How would you like to spend an afternoon watching a great film, and helping to raise awareness of how Action of Children help thousands of children, families and young people every year.
During March, April and May, Action for Children and Carlton Cinemas will be hosting a series of special film screenings across the UK. The screenings will be based around the theme of transformation and each film will be accompanied by a talk and a short film to tell people about the work. We are looking for friendly and enthusiastic volunteers who can help ensure the day runs smoothly. The role will involve welcoming guests to the cinema, helping with enquiries, assisting with the collection of donations and helping to raise awareness about the work.
