LSU volunteering opportunity

An exciting time for Liverpool Students’ Union and an amazing volunteering opportunity for LJMU students.

Are you interested in creating a better union, university or city?

The opportunity

Liverpool Students’ Union (LSU) is offering an interesting opportunity to join us as a volunteer at an exciting period of change to help steer our future direction. LSU is the representative body for LJMU students; we run a range of membership and commercial services to meet the needs of our diverse membership body.

From September Liverpool Students’ Union will be launching three new forums to enable students at LJMU to have their voice heard in areas that really matter to them with the objective of creating a better university, a better union and a better city.

We are looking for three students with a commitment and passion for delivering positive change to chair the forums and become trustees of Liverpool Students’ Union, a role which will involve:

  • Being a Trustee of LSU (please contact us to check that you are eligible to be a trustee)
  • Creating agendas, managing 6-7 forum meetings per year and managing volunteers
  • Talking to students encouraging them to attend the forums, finding out what issues are important to them and sharing the forums successes
  • Meeting key city, union and university people to discuss the forums activity
  • Commitment of around 10 hours per week term time
  • Playing an active role in the development of LSU and creating positive change for LJMU students

Why get involved?

  • Excellent addition to your CV
  • Training and development opportunities in being a trustee, active Political leadership and managing volunteers
  • Develop business, management and leadership skills
  • You will have a team of Union officers and staff supporting your work throughout the year

Interested?
