ECL faculty research conference

The Faculty of Education, Community and Leisure is holding its annual research conference on 26 June 2009 at IM Marsh Campus.
Professor Lewis Elton is delivering a keynote presentation at 10am in the Ian Newman Centre.
Professor Elton is an Honorary Professor of Higher Education at Centre for the Advancement of Learning and Teaching in University College London. His work over the past seventeen years has included chairing a Task Force on ‘Staff Development in Relation to Research’, leading a national seminar on ‘Management for Learning in Higher Education’ and evaluating the Quality Assessment programme of the Higher Education Funding Council for Wales.
At UCL Professor Elton developed a postgraduate course on ‘Research and Development in Higher Education’ for experienced academic teachers through distance learning and he has been the External Examiner for similar courses at the Universities of Oxford and Hong Kong and at the Dublin Institute of Technology.
Professor Elton is a Visiting Professor in Higher Education, Centre for Excellence in Enquiry-Based Learning, University of Manchester and Distinguished Visiting Scholar, University of Surrey Centre for Excellence in Professional Training and Education.
The Faculty would like to invite interested members of staff across the university to attend the keynote and the follow up research presentations on 26 June.
