Faculty exceeds enterprise budget
18 June 2009
The Faculty of Technology and Environment has invoiced sales in excess of its budget at only period 10 of the 2008/09 accounting year.
The Faculty has year to date sales of £1,520,791, taking it just over its £1.5m budget – and there is more to come. With a further £165,000 ‘on the books’ year end sales are expected to reach 112% of budget.
Jon Barrett, Director of Commercial and Enterprise Development, said: "This is a most encouraging period 10 result. The Faculty became LJMU’s first £1million enterprise Faculty last year and is now set to break its budget of £1.5 million. This has been achieved in no small part because of a strong commitment to commercial activity displayed throughout the Faculty and effective team work that has seen lucrative contracts, both in the UK and overseas, come to fruition. We look forward to continued growth in enterprise activity as we move into 2009/10".
Professor Diane Meehan, Dean of Faculty, said: "This is another excellent performance and is the result of the hard work put in both by colleagues in the Faculty and colleagues who support our efforts in the Business Development Centre. It also reconfirms that the work of the Faculty has direct relevance to industry and commerce. I’d like to thank everyone involved and I hope that we can keep up the good work next year."
