Young Citizens Concert

Last Wednesday 24 Primary schoolchildren received their LJMU Good Citizenship Awards at the Theatre Royal in St Helens as part of the annual Young Citizens Concert.

The children with their awardsIn attendance at the awards were the Mayor and Mayoress of St Helens, Chief Executive Carol Hudson and Executive Director of Children’s Services, Susan Richardson.

In her opening remarks to the audience of parents, family and carers, Barbara Mace, Manager of the Roscoe Foundation for Citizenship, paid tribute to the achievements of the young people. The award winners, some as young as five, received their awards for being a good role model, overcoming traumatic family and health problems and caring for other people.
