How you can get involved?

LJMU wants staff and students to become agents for environmental change at the University.

Over the coming months you probably come across posters, pop-up displays and news update articles giving you more details on how you can get involved in the Getting Greener Campaign.

The Getting Greener campaign is about letting you know what green initiatives are already taking place within LJMU but we also want to hear your ideas for future improvements and what we can do better.

If you have any ideas on how we can all make LJMU greener, please put them forward through the Staff Suggestion Scheme .  The best suggestion through this scheme each month wins a £25 prize.

You can also help by reporting maintenance problems or equipment faults - such as dripping taps, faults with lighting / heating and faulty appliances.  Please report these directly via the Property Services Help Desk.  Sorting these quickly can result in significant costs savings and reduction in energy use.

Did you know that it's cheaper (and greener) to turn lights off even for a short period of time? So why not start switching off the lights whenever you leave the room to go to meetings, lunch or even the loo?
