Security Services aims to provide a safe and secure environment for all our staff, students and visitors. To this end the University has invested considerable resources and effort in re-engineering the Service in order to meet this objective.
The headquarters of Security Services is "The Lodge" a purpose built Security Centre at the James Parsons Campus, which opened in summer 1997. The Lodge is equipped with state of the art technology for monitoring security systems and CCTV across all areas of the University. The Lodge is staffed 24 hours a day 365 days a year and is the centre of operation for the University Security Force.
The Security Force is made up of experienced security professionals, directly employed by the University. They operate in teams of 12 officers led by a Security Supervisor and provide a continuous service across all University sites. Duties include: reception work, static guarding, mobile patrolling and incident response.
