Research Projects

Most of our projects deal with the regulation of social relationships. Why is such a regulation important? Because social relationships are central to understand the social systems in which various species live. Social relationships are the key link between the observable social interactions and the social systems which are networks of social relationships.

A social relationship is an investment that provides benefits to the partners involved and social interactions are the means to modify relationships for one’s own advantage. Thus, the regulation of social relationships is a high priority for any individual living in a group and involves their establishment, maintenance, negotiation and restoration. Our projects tackle various aspects of such a regulation.
