Combining Work & Family Life
The research is an Objective 3, ESF funded project, focusing upon women's lack of progression within the labour market, recognising that a key factor contributing to this is their position as principal carers in the home. The main aim of the research is to explore the impact of government measures which have been put in place to address this issue, with a particular focus upon initiatives promoting flexible working practices.

This web-site has information on over 120 Irish families who lived in Victorian Stafford - who they were, where they came from and what may have happened to them.The site is part of research asking 'what happened to the emigrant Irish?'. It is exploring Irish families who moved from their home country through the small town of Stafford and on to their dispersal world-wide.
