I returned to education as a mature student in 2006 having left school in 1969. I was awarded a BA (Hons) in History, graduating from the School of Social Science in 2009. I am currently a Post Graduate Research Student with the History Dept. involved in a project entitled “Driftermen and the Silver Darlings: Responses to the Crises Suffered by the British Herring Fishing Industry 1914-1950” and hope to be teaching on the Spanish Civil War module for the History program in September 2010.
Samantha graduated in 2007 BA (Hons) in Geography. Since early 2008, she has worked at LJMU as a Sessional Lecturer in Geography and has worked for LJMU in a number of other roles including a FTQE Research Assistant and Work Related Learning Co-ordinator for the Liverpool Screen School. At present she is a Research Assistant in Criminology working on a project with Professor Steve Tombs regarding corporate crime in Merseyside. Samantha also has a long standing commitment to promoting Fairtrade in Liverpool and also contributes to a number of projects based in Nepal with Dr. Sara Parker and Dr. Kay Standing. Samantha is currently studying for her Research Masters in EU Politics.
Gareth graduated from LJMU in 2009 with a BA (Hons) in Sociology and is currently working towards his Masters degree.
Susannah graduated from LJMU in 2009 with a BA (Hons) in History and is currently travelling.
Chantal Miller graduated from LJMU in 2009 with a BA (Hons) in Criminology.
