Enrolment and attendance
2011 Enrolment Arrangements
Enrolment is an important element that students are required to complete before the formal commencement of their course.
Enrolment is a verification process were the University will formally verify your identity and qualifications and accept you onto the programme. This is an important process and without completing it you are not a recognised student of the University and will not be able to access University facilities. As part of the welcome pack that you will receive once you have confirmed your place following the release of your exam results you will be given a timeslot for enrolment This will be based on the course you are commencing and you will therefore be enrolling with fellow students from your course. It is in your own best interests to ensure that you complete your enrolment at the allotted timeslot. If you are unable to do so you should arrive at the earliest available opportunity.
This verification will consist of the following stages
· Prior to arrival you may have received an enrolment form to complete. If you have returned it to the University you will be asked to confirm that the details on that form are still correct. If you have not previously received an enrolment form then you will be required to complete one.
· You will be asked to verify your id by production of legally recognised documentation. This can be any of the following items
o Driving Licence
o Passport
o Birth Certificate
o Students commencing on courses requiring a CRB check should be aware that three forms of id are required.
o Under UK Border Agency regulations International students must produce their passport and Visa and details will be recorded on the Student System.
· Proof of qualifications obtained must be produced and these will be checked against the details you enter on your enrolment form.
· Evidence will need to be provided for the payment of your tuition fees. This may take one of the following formats
o Production of a Student Loans University Payment Advice indicating the amount of tuition fee loan you have been granted
o Production of a sponsor letter stating that a company/other organisation is willing to pay your fees
o Evidence that a instalment contract has been/will be taken out
o Payment is full
o International students paying their own fees must pay a minimum of 50% of their tuition fees either prior or on enrolment
Upon completion of enrolment you will be issued with your student ID card and details on how to access the University systems. If your id card is not available on the day you will be given a time when to call back to the Student Zone to collect it.
If for any reason you are unable to provide all the information requested you may find that you are unable to complete enrolment in which case your student ID card may be withheld until the missing information is provided.
