Tuition Fees (Full-time)

Tuition Fees

New Students

Full-time undergraduate students no longer have to pay their tuition fees upfront.  As long as you have not been to university before, you can take out a tuition fee loan to cover your tuition fees.  This should make it easier for you ro finance the day-to-day costs of being at University.

LJMU's full time 'Home' or EU undergraduate tuition fees will be £3,225 per year from 2009 plus inflation in subsequent years.  In September 2010 these tuition fees will be £3,290.

The tuition fee loan will be paid directly to LJMU on your behalf to cover the cost of your tution fees.  Eligibility is based on your residency and previous study.  If you have studied at HE level previously you are strongly advised to seek advice before you start another course.

This loan is repayable once you complete your course and your income goes beyond the £15,000 threshold.  This means that you do not have to repay anything whilst you are studying.

If you want to pay your tuition fees yourself and not take out a loan you can make arrangements to do this when you enrol on your course.

Continuing students

Students who began their course at LJMU before September 2006 will have there fees capped at £1,285 for the Academic Year 2009/10.  If you or your parents are assessed as having to contribute towards your fees, due to the level of their income, you will be able to take out a tuition fee loan to cover this contribution.
