Employers and WoW

LJMU is keen to engage with a range of local and regional employers to help enhance student employability and graduate opportunities.

The University is strengthening its links with employers, operating in all sectors of the economy, and with companies ranging from SMEs to international corporations. Such partnerships will ensure that the work-related learning LJMU offers and the skills students develop will meet the changing needs of the knowledge economy.

In addition, an extensive and growing panel of local employers is providing practical support, including experience of graduate recruitment and skills’ verification.

Brokerage System

Many of our Faculties and Schools already have well established links with employers operating in the public, private and not-for profit sectors.  We have developed a centralised Brokerage team designed to expand our connections with external organisations while also safeguarding against existing employer relationships and contacts being over-exposed to enquiries from other University departments.

The Brokerage team is much more than just a source of information. In liaison with Schools, Faculties and specialist groups, the Brokerage Team will actively seek out opportunities to develop mutually beneficial relationships between LJMU and employers.  They are keen to work together in creating opportunities for placements and find suitable students, facilitate employer participation in programme delivery and store business case studies for use in work-related learning.
