National Student Survey 2024

The National Student Survey (NSS) 2024 will launch next month.

LJMU has confirmed the institutional options for the survey: the optional questions to be asked, the date we will start and the charity we will support as an incentive for students to take part.

The NSS is an independent survey of all final year undergraduates in the UK and it gathers students’ opinions on the quality of their courses. The survey is conducted by Ipsos MORI, an independent research agency.

Our eligible students will receive an email from Ipsos MORI on Thursday 18 January 2024 with a unique link to the survey. Students can also complete the survey on the NSS website from Monday 8 January.

The survey will take around 10 minutes to complete, with participants responding to a series of single-choice questions relating to various aspects of their course and overall experience at LJMU.

Donation to local charity

LJMU will make a donation to local charity and foodbank Micah Liverpool for every survey completed. We did the same last year and, thanks to so many of our final year students completing the NSS, we were able to donate £11,000, which helped to buy several months’ worth of food and milk for local people living in poverty.

You will see prominent promotion of NSS 2024 starting in January, both on campus and via our digital platforms. Eligible students will also receive direct communications about the purpose of the survey and the associated charitable donations.

The NSS Champion for each school will share more information – including guidance around inappropriate influence – and promotional resources over the coming weeks.
