Campus Developments

When LJMU's 10-year campus development programme is completed in 2013, the University will have invested £180 million in upgrading existing properties and developing new buildings with facilities unrivalled elsewhere in the North West.

LJMU's City, Mount Pleasant and IM Marsh campuses represent a remarkable concentration of outstanding teaching, research and technology transfer within a relatively small geographical area. Many of these 'assets' are of national and international repute; all contribute to making LJMU a truly unique higher education institution and with targeted improvements, the University could be so much better. 

Our campus development programme is radical but it is based on a vision that LJMU can be a university with buildings and facilities that inspire and motivate everyone who uses them.

It's also based on sound business principles. Well-designed buildings can and do play a significant factor in the recruitment and retention of staff and of students. By investing in its estate, we can also reduce overheads and inefficiencies.

Furthermore, by investing in our campus and improving facilities for our staff, students and other stakeholders, we are advancing the renewal and regeneration of Liverpool, driving up its competitiveness, improving the public realm and making the city a more attractive place for everyone.
