The digital wave submerges the world, the compact disc asserts itself as the universal format for multimedia applications, and the Internet connects, little by little, all the computers. Therefore, we are living in a technological revolution, which will facilitate the communications, overturn the enterprise's organisation, and also modify our purchases customs. |

"To be well prepared for this revolution, I decided to follow the MSc course in Interactive Multimedia Systems in the school of Computing and Mathematical Sciences at the Liverpool John Moores University. Indeed, this one covers the most important multimedia and Internet features such as database systems, which are crucial elements for e-commerce Web sites, or computer security, which is becoming one of the main concerns on the Internet (to prevent people or companies against the attacks of virus or hackers), or finally, advanced programming languages such as XML and Java. But its main strength comes from the fact that it, also, undertakes an insight study of the multimedia systems of the future like the video on demand server or multi-players games on the Internet. Furthermore, this MSc course has brought to me another approach on the implementation of a software or a multimedia application, by explaining in details the main HCI (Human Computer Interaction) design principles and methods, and as well, the most used research methods. Finally, by giving to the students the opportunity to work together as a team on small multimedia projects and by preparing them progressively to write dissertations during the year, this MSc, which ends by a final project (4 months) that the student can define himself or choose it with the help of a teacher, afforded me with all the necessary knowledge to start my final project with total serenity. To conclude, I would like to mention the great competence of the entire teachers, who were always here to help students to resolve their difficulties in study or even their personal problems and to give lectures, which were not only of very good quality, but also, were able to open students' minds by developing their personal judgement and curiosity.
