Art and Design Academy

The £27 million Art and Design Academy is a signature building located close to the Metropolitan Cathedral
Opened 2009, the new home for the School of Art and Design is an iconic building designed by the leading architect, Rick Mather. In addition to the Schools requirements, the Academy offers a range of corporate conference and event facilities for both internal and external clients.
The Academy offers seminar rooms, galleries, catering and exhibition space and stunning roof terraces with spectacular city views. All types of events are catered for, from conferences and exhibitions to small meetings and large dinners. The renowned Tate Catering offer freshly made, seasonal produce for events held in The Academy.
Audio-visual facilities include multiple projection systems and the capacity to film and record events in the 300-seat multi-purpose space. The building has been designed to be as flexible as possible, maximising light, space and energy efficiency and offering wireless access to computing technology throughout.
