Introduction
If design, the arts, philosophy, history, the environment, culture interest you and you would like to take up the challenge to be actively involved in shaping these creatively, then Architecture at LJMU is a vocational course that may be for you.
We run a stimulating course that is fully accredited by professional bodies, RIBA (Royal Institute of British Architects) and the ARB (Architects Registration Board). The course is taught in a brand new purpose built building which will impact upon your learning experience as you constantly embrace contemporary thinking and practice within creative studio, exhibition and workshop environments.
The course is structured primarily around design, where you are encouraged to explore ideas within a brief, whilst being bolstered by cultural, environmental and technological knowledge, giving you a unique learning experience that is characterised by intellectual creativity and pragmatic reality.
Opportunities exist for you to explore beyond by subscribing to the various field study trips abroad on offer or even spending a semester of study in one of our European partner exchange institutions.
After completing your degree with us, you will attain exemptions from RIBA/ARB Part 1 examinations.
Many of our graduates have successfully secured employment at world-class practices throughout the UK and beyond whilst others have remained in the city of Liverpool contributing to its evolution, taking key roles in leading practices that have reshaped the city over the last decade.
