Introduction
The BSc (Hons) Computer Games Technology course at Liverpool John Moores University aims at producing Computer Game Software Engineers with strong skills and expertise in computer game development. The course provides students with comprehensive knowledge of the technologies related to computer games development including computer graphics, computer animation, game console technology and computer vision. The placement year the students undertake, in a relevant industry, will provide them with valuable experience in working in a professional environment. The main subject areas that the students are learning throughout their studies are computer programming and mathematics, in addition to a number of transferrable skills such as report writing, presentations and group work. Furthermore, the course assignments have been designed to help students develop their own portfolio which will help them in their search for employment after they graduate. Many of the Computer Games Technology graduates find employment in the games development companies such as Sony Liverpool, Bizarre Creations, Travellers Tale, Juice Games, Electronic Arts, Eurocom, Spiral House and more.
