What will you get out of studying this course?
The skills of problem solving, analysis and design are fundamental to the Civil Engineer. The BEng (Hons) Civil Engineering degree course is designed to develop these skills to the level required in the workplace, and to supplement, with skills in team work, drawing, IT, risk assessment, report writing and common sense. It can be studied in sandwich, full or part time mode. The course is fully accredited by the Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE), and, together with relevant work experience and a relevant Masters level degree, leads
to the professional qualification of Chartered Engineer (CEng) and the equivalent European Qualification of EurIng.
What career opportunities are available?
Career prospects for students graduating with a degree in Civil Engineering from this University are excellent, with most students obtaining employment prior to the end of their final academic year. In many cases students are made a number of job offers. Graduates work for either small and large civil engineering practices in the private or the public sector, local authorities, government agencies and nongovernmental organisations.
