Introduction

Is Computer Forensics for you?
The creation of information technology has ensured that the fields of commerce and industry operate in a more effective and efficient manner, but it has also provided criminals with a new way of committing crime. The internet makes it easier to commit crimes, but more difficult to trace and prosecute offenders.

Computer forensics is emerging as an important tool in the fight against crime and malicious activity. Crime involving computing technology is on the rise – a computer itself may be the target of the crime, or it may hold an arsenal of information that is used or generated during the commission of a crime.

What will you get out of studying this course?
This degree aims to provide you with the technical, analytical and evaluative skills required for the development of computer forensics solutions, so that you can implement computer forensics based investigations within organisations, law enforcement and national security.
