i-buy
LJMU is introducing a new system called i-buy.
i-buy is a self-service system which will deliver an online shopping experience, where staff can order goods and services from a list of approved suppliers, with shopping trolley and checkout features allowing users to review and change purchases.
Procurement through i-buy will give LJMU greater purchasing power, driving down costs through improved economies of scale, reducing paperwork and delivering greater value for money.
Business processes will also be streamlined, with clear lines of approval and authorisation for all purchases and charging, delivering robust audit trails.
Once it has been launched to all staff across the University, i-buy will be accessed via Staff Infobase.

P2P Project
i-buy is one aspect of a bigger LJMU project called the P2P (Procure to Pay) project. which has the following aims:
- Helping staff to select and order goods, services and works in a simple and standardised way from approved and recognised sources
- Seeking efficiency in processing orders and invoices for both LJMU and suppliers
- Gaining information about purchases and suppliers to influence supply and demand and contract arrangements.
- Reducing stationery and postage costs and LJMU’s and suppliers’ carbon footprint.
