How to Renew Items to Extend their Due Dates

Using the Library Catalogue, either online or from a dedicated terminal within the Learning Resource Centres (LRCs), you can renew some or all of the items you have on loan.

Renew All Items

  • View the list of your current Items On Loan as described in Managing Loans.

  • Click the Renew All link:

  • If all items are renewed successfully, the following page will appear.

  • If some or all of the items cannot be renewed, these items will be listed:

    Please Note: Where items cannot be renewed, you will still need to return these to an LRC by their existing due dates.

Renew Individual Items

  • As for renewing all items above, navigate to the list of your current Items On Loan as described in Managing Loans.

  • Choose the item(s) to renew by ticking its check box (to the left of the item number), for example:

  • Click the Renew Selected link:

  • If the renewal is successful, you will see a list of successfully renewed items. Always take the time to confirm the chosen item has been renewed and the due date has changed accordingly.

  • If the renewal fails, for example, when an item has been reserved by another library user, you will be informed like this:

    Please Note: Where an item cannot be renewed, you will still need to return it to an LRC by the existing due date.
