As with any trip, it's really important that you plan your journey in advance and take into account any disruption to roads, buses, or rail. Local updates can be found on the Merseytravel website.
Road
From the M62: at the end of the motorway continue straight ahead onto Edge Lane (A5080 then A5047) and follow signs for Liverpool City Centre and the Metropolitan Cathedral.

Rail
The Art and Design Academy is just a ten-minute walk away from the nearest mainline station at Lime Street. Take the main exit and turn left into Lime Street. Then turn left again at the Britannia Adelphi Hotel and continue up Brownlow Hill towards the Metropolitan Catholic Cathedral.
Note: Central Station (local rail services) is currently closed due to a £20 million upgrade - if you are travelling on the Wirral or Northern lines, please check the Merseytravel website to see how this may affect your journey.

Coach
The National Express coach station is in Norton Street, a ten-minute walk from the Campus. From the exit, turn right and cross London Road into Seymour Street and Russell Street. Then turn left into Brownlow Hill and head towards the Metropolitan Catholic Cathedral.

Ferry
Mersey Ferries operates services between Pier Head and Birkenhead/Wallasey on the Wirral. You can also sail between Liverpool and Belfast and the Isle of Man. Once in Liverpool, follow signs for the Metropolitan Catholic Cathedral, or for Lime Street Station, then follow directions to the university from the station, as listed above.

Parking
There is no car parking at the Design Academy and the nearest NCP car park can be found at the bottom of Mount Pleasant, towards the City Centre. This particular car park operates a pay and display system - please note, the Mount Pleasant NCP closes at 8pm so may be unsuitable for evening events.
