LJMU Racing team's competition entries over the years
Now entering its 5th year in the Formula Student class 1 competition, LJMU Racing team has gone from strength to strength with a string of successful results. LJMU have competed at a high level at our home competition at Silverstone and abroad. The team’s ethos since we began has been to decrease the number of bought in components each year, instead preferring to design, develop and manufacture their own parts where possible. Through bringing many key components under their control, the team have been able to develop and optimize their race cars for formula student competitions in ways that would not be possible with aftermarket parts. This provides the team with a platform for applying their academic knowledge in a practical way. The 2014 entry will be our most advanced to date, with the implementation of an updated powertrain system, which features newly profiled cams amongst many other modifications.
For the 2014 season the team is competing part in 2 competitions, Formula student UK and Formula Student Spain.
|Formula Student UK, Silverstone

|Formula Student Spain, circuit de catalunya

|27/03/2014|| New steering rack !!!
Thanks to our brilliant sponsors TITAN our 2014 steering rack is here. We have been using TITAN steering racks since our first car in 2010. Their reputation is unrivalled and they provide generous
sponsorship to teams competing in Formula Student.
|26/03/2014|| We have finished our uprights !!!
LJMU Racing Team is committed to producing as much of our vehicle 'in house' as possible. This means that we can ensure that our components are fully optimised to the task for which they are
designed. After approximately 24hrs of CNC Machine time the 2014 uprights are finally ready to be attached to the car car, along with the rest of the corner assembly.
|24/03/2014|| Driver Training
As well as optimising the design of our car LJMU recognise the importance of optimising our drivers. Thanks to Hooton Kart Track we spent 6 hours driving our car, allowing this year's drivers to gain
valuable experience in hoe the car handles. This also gives us the opportunity to train our pit crew and to test new systems to be implemented on this years vehicle.
