Organisational role and responsibilities
Bob teaches International Business Ethics, Corporate Social Responsibility, Relationship Marketing and The Social Economy. He is also joint Programme Leader for the MA Social Enterprise Management.
Biography
Prior to moving into academia in 2004 Bob spent nearly five years as the first Head of Marketing at the innovative Fairtrade Social Enterprise The Day Chocolate Company. Prior to his chocolate experience Bob spent nine years in various senior commercial roles in the Global animal health Industry.
Research Interests
Bob’s research is centred around the competitive nature of Fairtrade business models and their impact on the UK food industry. He is part of the SERG (Sustainable Enterprise Research Group) and is currently commissioned by the Department for International Development to carry out a three-year study researching the impact of The Day Chocolate Company on the UK confectionery Industry.
Bob is also co-editor of a special edition of The International Journal of Social Economics (Emerald Publishers) on Social Enterprise Management. In addition to his academic work, Bob is a member of the new Co-operative Retail Group External Ethical Advisory Panel, and is also Chair of the Liverpool Fairtrade City Steering Group.
