Spirituality

LJMU is a secular institution. We have a diverse student population and acknowledge the need for suitable facilities to enable students to pray/reflect during the standard academic day.

We affirm that all members of our university community have the right to religious freedom and we work hard to ensure tolerance and equality for all.

To this end, we will provide space appropriate for the purpose of prayer, reflection and contemplation at key campus locations. Such Prayer Spaces will be as inclusive and accessible as possible. The Prayer Spaces will be used for individual prayer, reflection and contemplation. Large gatherings should utilise facilities provided by Liverpool Students' Union for clubs and societies. The LJMU Ecumenical Chaplaincy exists to focus on the spiritual wellbeing of our students and staff.

Our Ecumenical chaplains are always available to meet up and chat. They can offer friendship, conversation, pastoral care, spiritual support and guidance on matters of faith, belief and spirituality.
