We are in the vanguard of new developments that are modernising the teaching profession and setting national models of best practice. Our insightful innovative programmes ensure that graduates are equipped to meet the challenges of this fascinating profession.
Based on 100 years’ experience of teacher education, we currently provide Initial Teacher Education for primary, secondary and Key Stage 2/3 across a range of subjects as well as teaching qualifications for the post-16 sector. Our teacher training courses lead to awards of BA (Hons) with QTS, BSc (Hons) with QTS, and PGCE, covering a variety of subjects in both the primary and secondary sectors.

Academics in Education are highly qualified and respected both in the UK and internationally for their specialist knowledge of all aspects of the teaching profession. Most also have hands-on experience as teachers, deputy head teachers, heads of departments, inspectors and advisers. This combination of classroom experience and creative research enables us to devise programmes that respond to and reflect changes in teaching practices.
We have also provided Continuing Professional Development for teachers in Merseyside and the North West for more than twenty-five years. Our CPD programmes give experienced teachers, lecturers and others working in education and training the opportunity to develop and reflect on professional practice enhancing job satisfaction and improving the learning and achievement of pupils and students.
