Initial Teacher Training at LJMU
With over 100 year’s experience in training teachers and a reputation as innovators in providing Initial teacher training (ITT), we have much to offer those who wish to enter the teaching profession.
Initial Teacher Training is delivered in partnership with over 200 primary and secondary schools and colleges throughout Merseyside as well as parts of Lancashire, Cheshire and Greater Manchester.
PGCE programmes
The Faculty offers a range of training programmes at postgraduate level (PGCE) leading to recommendation for Qualified Teacher Status (QTS). Currently this programme is available in the following subjects:
- Art and Design
- Early Years
- Design and Technology (Including Food and Textiles)
- Computer Science and Information Technology
- Engineering
- Mathematics
- Modern Languages
- Physical Education
- Physics with Mathematics
- Science (including Biology, Chemistry, Physics)
Undergraduate Programmes
We also offer a three year undergraduate programme in Primary Education leading to recommendation for QTS.
