Fees and Bursaries: PGCE Students 2012
Fees for September 2012 entry will be set at a maximum of £9,000 ("subject to approval by OFFA"). This will be confirmed as soon as further details of funding for PGCE courses are available from the TA (Teaching Agency, was TDA).Tuition fee and maintenance loans are available to eligible students; these are only repayable once the course is complete and you are earning a salary over £21,000.
Training bursaries are available, depending on the subject and degree classification held by applicants and the subject they are seeking to teach.
To be eligible for a bursary, the trainee must:
1. be an ‘eligible’ student for the provision of UK(Home/EU but not international) student support,
2. hold a UK first degree with at least second class honours, or equivalent,
3. not already hold QTS,
4. not be undertaking paid teaching work when receiving the bursary
5. be taking a qualifying postgraduate ITT course,
6. not be taking any other ITT course
7. sign a declaration that they intend to seek employment as a teacher in England once qualified and
8. comply with the terms and conditions of the bursary scheme.

Our insightful innovative programmes ensure that graduates are equipped to meet the challenges of this fascinating profession. Based on 100 years’ experience of teacher education, we currently provide Initial Teacher Education for primary and secondary schools across a range of subjects.
Our Academic staff are highly qualified and respected both in the UK and internationally for their specialist knowledge of all aspects of the teaching profession. Most also have hands-on experience as teachers, deputy head teachers, heads of departments, inspectors and advisers.
