Volunteering at LJMU

 Introduction to volunteering

Volunteering is generally thought of as an altruistic act, one that is of benefit to one party only, a common misconception. With a more competitive job market and employers crying out for graduates with skills relating to the ‘world of work’, volunteering can offer staff, students and the community a ‘win, win situation’.

LJMU hopes that this year with a volunteer programme aimed at raising the aspirations of children and young people that volunteering can help support the personal and professional development of its students and staff, while supporting local schools and colleges.
