Mobile Movies

13 December 2007

Mobile Movies held a weekend residential with eight young people who are part of the North West branch of the UK Youth Parliament. The UK Youth Parliament enables young people to use their energy and passion to change the world for the better. Run by young people for young people, UKYouth Parliament provides opportunities for 11-18-year-olds to use their voice in creative ways to bring about social change.

ICDC delivered the weekend-long residential with the young people at Trafford Hall in Chester. Everyone involved had a fantastic time and some really innovative and entertaining films were created by the young people who demonstrated real creativity and excellent film making skills.

Click on the links below to view the films and don't forget to rate and comment as the young people really like getting feedback on their work.

ICDC are currently holding film making workshops with the Irish Traveller Community and Refugee Action. There will be a joint screening for these two groups on the 22 January from 5.00pm here in the lecture theatre. Please email Bernadette McGrath if you wish to attend.

The project has received excellent feedback from the funders. Katie Simpson, the Head of Youth Media at the Media Trust has stated that Mobile Movies was "without doubt one of the best projects they have funded" and was extremely complimentary about ICDC's project. Media Trust is part of the Mediabox funding consortium.
