Creating a connected campus
The redevelopment of Copperas Hill will help connect different areas of LJMU's campus, helping us to achieve our ambition of having a walkable campus.
Copperas Hill is in a prime location, easily accessible by public transport (buses and specifically trains from the redeveloped Lime Street Station) and with excellent pedestrian links to the city centre and the Knowledge Quarter. Our plans further enhance this connectivity, creating a truly accessible connected campus for LJMU.
A transformed Copperas Hill will help develop stronger connections between the John Lennon Art and Design Building, the Redmonds Building and other facilities in the Mount Pleasant Campus with Tithebarn Street and Byrom Street in the City Centre Campus.
It will also help integrate the Knowledge Quarter within Liverpool city centre, turning dereliction into vibrancy.
A new knowledge pathway will be created, connecting LJMU's City and Mount Pleasant campuses via Copperas Hill.
