This event will be of interest to anyone who wants to study or have a career in the media (drama, journalism, television, film, online, digital media platforms) in technical, creative or production roles.
Guest speakers will include:
- Roy Boulter: followed a successful music career with The Farm (whose No.1 album Spartacus featured the anthemic Altogether Now), by gaining over a hundred and fifty script-writing credits on Brookside, Hollyoaks, Eastenders and the second - BAFTA winning - series of Jimmy McGovern’s The Street. With Hurricane Films he has produced eight feature films including the BAFTA-nominated Of Time And The City, last year’s A Prayer Before Dawn - with Sometimes Always Never staring Bill Nighy due for release on June 14
- Mark Fothergill: creative producer of digital media whose past credits include The Only Way is Essex and currently Content Producer, BBC Future Experience Technologies
- Amanda Jane Read: Publicity and Engagement Manager, ITV in the North
- Elaine Wilson: Training Advisor, BBC Academy
You will also meet staff and students from LJMU’s Liverpool Screen School and learn more about LJMU’s Media facilities, programmes of study, the student experience and for teachers discover more about how we can support you to deliver creative industry subjects in your school or college.
