Andrew Stahl, painter and sculptor
Andrew Stahl is a Professor at the UCL Slade School of Fine Art in London. He has exhibited frequently in London and the UK and widely across Europe, Asia and America. Andrew has received many awards including the Abbey Rome Scholarship and the Wingate Scholarship for travel in South East Asia. He has participated in public-funded residences in Thailand, China, Australia and Sri Lanka. His most recent exhibition includes the Bangkok Art Biennale
Andrew writes about his paintings and sculptures;
"The mind can be like a river which often has fragments and material flowing through it reflecting the life that we lead. I want my paintings to have a fluidity and flow. My paintings have a sense of euphoria and wandering; flowing thoughts floating across surfaces and poetic interactions."
Andrew sees international engagement and transcultural interaction as a vital part of today's discourse.
