Women in Sports Journalism Day

With the growing popularity in women’s sport, there is a huge demand for talented female sports journalists with the skills to report on events around the world.
Attendees at this event hosted by the university’s journalism department, will get a flavour of what a career in sports journalism could be like, as well as have chance to consider the broader skills needed to succeed in the wider journalism and media sector. During the day, students will:
- Learn new skills, such as television presenting, interviewing, radio/TV production, digital and online writing during a series of interactive workshops.
- Have chance to meet and talk to top female sports journalists and presenters from Sky Sports and other outlets like BBC, local and national publications.
This event is ideal for Year 10 and 11 students who are considering A level/BTEC choices, their potential university studies and future careers.
Registration: Due to the expected high demand for this event, places are limited to 12 per school. This should be a mixture of students and teachers.
