This event will help you to hone the craft of pitching your research.
‘Pitching’ your research successfully means communicating what you do - and, most importantly, why you do it - in a way that is clear and compelling. Pitching is one of the most important skills a researcher can acquire.
Armed with a strong pitch, you will: write better funding applications; engage with stakeholders and network more effectively; focus on impact more closely; demonstrate greater confidence in yourself and your research. It also means that you will be well prepared for any internal/external competitions that rely on your ability to communicate in a concise and persuasive way.
We will explore what makes the perfect pitch and you will utilise a Stanford Research Institute approach in order to create your own. Over two ‘rounds’ and with the support and feedback of your fellow pitchers you will improve your pitch in a focused, motivating and fun environment.
