In Conversation with Dr Julius Garvey
This event has already taken place.Culture Liverpool together with Mayor Joanne Anderson will welcome Dr Julius Garvey (son of civil rights activist Rt. Honourable Marcus Mosiah Garvey) to Liverpool for an 'In Conversation’ event. There will be an opportunity to hear first hand the work of his father and how Julius is visiting the UK to promote his work in racial justice and freedom of speech. The visit is brought by The Marcus Garvey Legacy Trust (MGLT), founded by songwriter and long-serving community activist Eddie Capone, who regards Rt. Honourable Marcus Mosiah Garvey as more than an advocate for the freedom of oppressed black people, but rather as someone who developed a clear and lasting message of hope for all humankind.
