Meeting the needs of health and social care
The School has been committed to advancing developments in health and social care for over 25 years.
We can trace our origins back to April 1991 when the Liverpool School of Nursing and Midwifery amalgamated with Liverpool Polytechnic, laying the foundations for today’s School of Nursing and Allied Health. Many years later, the nursing, midwifery and allied health professions face a raft of new challenges at a critical moment in NHS history. We're committed to working in partnership with health and social care organisations to provide solutions that meet the needs of the evolving health and social care agenda.
WINNER of the Student Nursing Times Educator of the Year (Pre-registration) Award 2018
We are hugely proud to announce that we are winners of the Student Nursing Times Educator of the Year Award 2018 and finalist for Student Nurse of the Year, Children category. This is thanks to the dedication and professionalism of our experienced tutors and academics who strive to ensure our students receive the best nursing education possible.
"Health village" prepares students for the real-world
Our facilities are laid out to emulate a patient's journey from a collapse at home to inside the ambulance, into A&E and through to rehabilitation. The simulated settings give students the realism necessary to ready themselves for the challenges of providing real life treatment to patients.
Take a walk through our health village.
