Fire Prevention and Fire Fighting (Refresher) (STCW A-VI/1-2)

Duration: One day

  1. An existing Fire Prevention & Fire Fighting (or equivalent) Certificate. Seafarers who have six months or more sea service prior to 1 August 1998 and were exempt from basic safety courses do not need to provide the FP&FF certificate but an evidence of their sea time will need to be sited
  2. ENG1 medical certificate, or equivalent, as an indicator of fitness and/or an assessment for fitness carried out by LJMU

Accreditation/Approvals: MCA as per the STCW Code section STCW A-VI/I-2

Overviews: This one day course provides an opportunity to seafarers to refresh their firefighting skills, particularly the skills that cannot be refreshed on-board i.e. to practice with live fires and thus maintain their initial skills gained during FP&FF full course.

The course is designed to provide maximum time on practical firefighting skills, hence candidates must be physically and mentally prepared to spend most of their time on fire ground.

Registration for this course is not yet open. Check back soon for updates.
