Our specialities and research
We're addressing some of the 21st century's most complex issues
Our academics are tackling complex issues, securing international acclaim in three broad research groupings relating to:
- Leadership, Education and Development
- Project Management
- Small Business and Entrepreneurship
Building on the successes individuals in our research groups have achieved, we are now undertaking new work, developing a range of impactive research projects within social and economic engagement.
Although we value our international research, for the past 40 years our business academics have also worked alongside the North West’s business community. Together we have improved employability, boosted workforce productivity and generated innovation and growth. One way we do this is through our professional development programmes, which are bespoke and support the specific needs of each business we work with. For example, we created a management development course for Liverpool ONE.
As a School, we are very proud of our research students. Our thriving postgraduate research programmes attract scholars from all over the world, from China to Norway, and our state-of-the art postgraduate suite, along with our supportive staff, enables each student to fulfil their scholarly potential. This activity extends to our taught postgraduate programmes which have international collaborations with universities in Germany, the Czech Republic and Malaysia.
We are also working with several American universities, collaborating on research and practice-based activities within our specialist business areas. Thanks to these partnerships we are developing staff and student exchanges, which, through the sharing of ideas and experiences, will help everyone involved learn from one another. In addition to this, our School has an excellent Employability Support Unit, which is dedicated to finding students placements.
Another added strength for the Liverpool Business School is its membership with the Chartered Association of Business Schools. This membership gives staff from the School access to a world-class professional network.
