Students at LJMU will be given an exclusive chance to view the Bloomberg New Contemporaries 2018 exhibition during graduation week, part of the Liverpool Biennial Festival.
This will be the first year the exhibition will be hosted by the Liverpool School of Art and Design, before moving to London in December where it will be shown at the South London Gallery.
This year 57 artists have been selected for the annual open submission exhibition by a judging panel including Benedict Drew, Katy Moran and Keith Piper with support from Bloomberg Philanthropies.
New Contemporaries was established in 1949 and has consistently supported contemporary visual artists to successfully transition from education into professional practice, primarily by means of an annual national touring exhibition.
It has featured a wealth of established artists over the years including post-war figures Frank Auerbach and Paula Rego; pop artists Patrick Caulfield and David Hockney; YBAs Damien Hirst and Gillian Wearing.
New Contemporaries is the leading organisation supporting emergent art practice from the UK’s established and alternative art programmes.
Bloomberg New Contemporaries will take place from 14 July until 9 September.
