National Student Survey 2023

Preparations are well under way for the National Student Survey (NSS) 2023.

LJMU has confirmed the institutional options for the survey: the optional questions to be asked, the date we will start and the charity we will support as an incentive for students to take part.

The NSS is an independent survey of all final year undergraduates in the UK and it gathers students’ opinions on the quality of their courses. The survey is conducted by Ipsos MORI, an independent research agency.

Students will be asked to respond to 27 single-choice questions relating to various aspects of their course and overall experience at LJMU.

Eligible LJMU students will be emailed by Ipsos MORI on Thursday 19 January 2023 with a unique link to the survey. They will be able to complete the survey online from Wednesday 11 January.

We will deliver a high-profile promotional campaign across LJMU to raise awareness of NSS 2023, including a range of resources for academic staff to promote the survey to their students and encourage them to complete it.

LJMU will make a donation to local charity and foodbank Micah Liverpool for every survey completed.

We did the same last year and, thanks to so many of our final year students completing the NSS, we were able to donate £10,000 to support local people in poverty.

The NSS Champion for each school will share more information – including guidance around inappropriate influence – and promotional resources over the coming weeks.
