Claus Espinoza, undergraduate student from Spain, really enjoys walking by the docks, going to language workshops to practice his English and hanging out with his friends: “This is what you come to university for, a change of environment and to get out of your comfort zone. Every day you learn something and you are always doing new things.”
The 24 years-old student says: “It depends on the day, but I really like to go and listen to live music in Mathew Street.”
If you enjoy listening to music, the city centre has a wide variety of bars and pubs where you can go and listen to local bands and even sing along. For example, in the legendary Cavern Club on Matthew Street where The Beatles performed, there are thrilling live performances.
However, if you enjoy dancing and listening to more up-beat tunes, the discos and clubs in Concert Square are a great option. Soho is a club with a terrace where you can hang out with friends and dance the night away.
Liverpool also has a large number of places to visit and many cultural activities to partake in. Enjoying a walk by Sefton Park or losing yourself in the middle of the kaleidoscopic expositions held in the city’s museums are brilliant experiences. Espinoza says: “I love walking near the museums on the Albert Dock because I can see the sea best from there.”
If you don’t fancy walking and sightseeing, cooking a meal with your friends is a really nice thing to do in Liverpool. The best plan for Cherry Yeung is simply to cook a dinner with her friends: “I really like to spend time with my friends. I spend a lot of time especially cooking dinner so we can chat.”
Whether you want to enjoy Liverpool’s nightlife, get lost in the sublime art work in the galleries, or escape from the city by walking along the docks or in the parks, the city offers you a whole universe of unique life-changing experiences.

Disfrutar una caminata por Sefton Park o perderte en medio de las caleidoscópicas exposiciones que hay en los museos de la ciudad son también opciones muy agradables. Espinoza dice: “Yo de vez en cuando me voy a dar un paseo por los muelles”. “Suelo estar más que nada por la zona de los museos, porque es donde se ve mar.”
Pero al final del día, incluso un plan no elaborado, como cocinar una comida con tus amigos es una cosa realmente agradable para hacer en Liverpool para un estudiante internacional. El mejor plan para Cherry Yeung es simplemente cocinar una cena con sus amigos. “A mi realmente me gusta pasar el tiempo con mis amigos. Yo paso el tiempo especialmente haciendo cenas para que podamos hablar.
