Vegans of Liverpool: the former LJMU student feeding our city
From home baker to successful businesswoman – Natalie Shilton reveals how she turned her plant-based passion into a local enterprise.
When it comes to the vegan scene here in Liverpool, there’s certainly no shortage of places to get your plant-based fix. With the concept of veganism increasing in popularity and gaining more and more momentum, it’s little wonder that many of the city’s cafes, bars and restaurants are reimagining their menus to include more vegan options than ever before and looking towards more sustainable ways of doing business.
One local Liverpool business that’s leading the way when it comes to promoting the benefits of veganism is The Nakery. They’re a Berry Street based vegan bakery specialising in delicious raw treats that are gluten and sugar-free. We caught up with The Nakery’s owner Natalie Shilton, a former Psychology student at LJMU to find out more about what led her down the paths of veganism and entrepreneurship…
