Biography

I am an art historian with interests in the history of exhibitions and the critical reception of works of art in the UK and USA in the nineteenth and twentieth centuries.

I have supervised PhDs on a number of topics, including exhibition cultures, modernism, patronage, curatorial research, art writing, and histories of art practice. I particularly welcome research students with interests in exhibition histories.
