Dr Simon Tucker

Liverpool School of Art and Design

I am interested in the environmental and ecological design and performance of buildings and the built environment, and in the associated methods, models and information used in design. I joined LJMU as Senior Lecturer in Environmental Design in 2015, with qualifications in architecture and engineering. I have developed and led masters and doctoral programmes in environmental architecture and sustainability at the University of East London and the Centre for Alternative Technology in Wales, and carried out funded research and design consultancy.

Specific research interests include;
• Design methods and tools for low energy / low carbon buildings
• User oriented building simulation
• The built environment and climate change
• Low environmental impact housing
• Sustainable refurbishment
• Performance of ecological building materials
