Dr Kelsy Hejjas

Dr. Kelsy Hejjas completed her Ph.D in Tourism and Hospitality Management at the University of Surrey. Prior to joining Liverpool John Moores University, Kelsy worked both in the whale watching industry and in economic development in rural Canada. She has worked with businesses in both hospitality and tourism to evaluate their CSR initiatives, as well as with entrepreneurs looking to incubate tourism businesses across a range of sectors. She has been involved with both private and public sector organisations, non-profits, indigenous communities, academics, and tourism and hospitality businesses.

At LJMU, Kelsy is the Programme Manager for International Tourism Management and a lecturer in International Tourism Management. She teaches across all levels (L3-L7) and has supervised both undergraduate and graduate research projects.

Kelsy’s professional and academic areas of expertise include human resources (particularly in relation to corporate social responsibility, ethics, and employee engagement), micro-CSR, organisational culture, management, leadership, and communication.
